Book Review: The Full Armor of God

Book Description:

Stand Firm Against the Devil’s Schemes Whether you are aware of it or not, every Christian is locked in a struggle with the spiritual forces of this dark world. If our defenses are weak–or nonexistent–these enemies can, and will, slowly, subtly, lead you away from a life of righteousness. In this tactical guide, bestselling author and trusted theologian Larry Richards offers an ironclad defense plan straight from the Bible. Using Paul’s letter to the Ephesians as his infallible guide, Richards reveals how God provides protection from every attack of the enemy–and how you can put on the full armor of God today and every day.

Including practical, hands-on exercises, this is the essential biblical approach to standing your ground against the enemy’s ploys.

My Review:

We often refer to the armor God has given us to fight our spiritual battles, but what are we really referring to?  This books breaks it down as explained in the Bible in the book of Ephesians.  The author takes this book and explains what Paul means in the letter that he wrote, explaining each piece of armor in detail and how we can use that to fight against Satan’s schemes.  If you are looking for a good and thorough book on spiritual warfare then I highly recommend this book.  I did not find it boring and it read very smoothly.  It was easy to read and comprehend and was in much more depth about the book of Ephesians than the average Bible commentary.  The book takes each piece of our armor describes what it represents, the schemes that Satan uses against us, and then explains how we can use that piece of armor to fight Satan’s schemes.  I found the book to be very insightful and I learned a great deal about spiritual warfare by reading it.

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book for review from Bethany House Publishers.  I was not obligated to write a positive review.  The opinions in this review are my own.
